Írjon visszajelzéstWe love Beaunuts! Been coming here for years and wish we lived closer to enjoy it more often. The biscuit doughnuts are always great, and the vibe is always chill. Great place to bring the kids to pick out a treat.
Gourmet food and a rock n ' roll attitude, Beaunuts is a PVA gem!I 've been here a few times now, and each time, it has been wonderful. The inside is cozy and pretty low key, which lends itself to a laid back vibe. Ownership/staff has always been very welcoming to me and very helpful if I had any questions. No, you are not going to find any servers with fake smiles and cheer. What you WILL find are warm, very personable people who just want to provide you with ridiculously high quality food.Obviously, from the name, their specialty is doughnuts. However, the quality of them? Out of this world. If you love cake doughnuts, then THIS is your place.Next to the register, they have a case with the specials of the day, each one looking scrumptious with a different fruit or confectionary topping. Honestly, though, as others on here have said, the real secret is their standard glazed, because hot out of the fryer, it can not be beat. Thankfully, due to the doughnuts being slightly smaller, you never feel overwhelmed by the richness of the cake so feel free to eat a few (or a dozen). In addition to the doughnuts, this local joint has a penchant for making an amazing biscuit and then repurposing those biscuits into their more savory breakfast dishes. The breakfast sandwich is served on biscuits with the middle punched out (to keep the doughnut theme). They also have flatbreads, which are, you guessed it, made out of a thin, crispier biscuit instead of a cracker. By the way, the smoked salmon flatbread with tomato aioli about made me fall out of my chair that thing is perfect. To round out the biscuit related dishes, they also have a Southern standard biscuits and gravy. However, you won 't be eating these with a fork. Remember earlier when I said they punch out the middle of their biscuit sandwiches? Well, those bite sized middle pieces are now fried and paired with a cup of their VA Chili (sausage gravy) to dunk them in. Alright, alright, they have a bunch of breakfast items that sound wonderful. I guess I don 't need to eat there past brunch though... Not so fast they also have an entire menu of hot dogs to wow you through lunch and dinner. Hot dogs!?! But that 's hardly a meal. Oh no, fellow diner, once again, they pulled a fast one on you.Aside from the standard Plain Dog, their frankfurter creations are phenomenal each coming in a different variety to match the multitudes of flavors we enjoy across the South. Whether you want a taste of Tennessee (Jack Daniels braised onions and crispy pork skins), Carolina (short rib chili and slaw), or Texas (Frito Pie and Chive Crema, Y 'all), you will have your tastebuds rocked. My personal favorite is the Old Dominion Dog, which is a pork frank with the VA chili and a pimento cheese sauce. If you are of a younger generation, you may catch yourself thinking, pimento cheese!?! That nasty stuff my Meemaw used to put on crackers? as I shamefully once did. But I (and you) are fools if you think they would do you like that. Their pimento cheese is again, some more fancy stuff, disguised as not fancy stuff. It is addictive, and if you REALLY want a lot of it, try it drizzled over their Southern Cheese Fries. As for drink options, they have a cup of coffee to pair with your doughnut fare. They also have a cooler stocked with juices, teas, and a few craft brews to help keep you refreshed on a muggy Petersburg summer day.Beaunuts does its best to hide as a low key joint with a punk motif, but the moment you bite into any of their creations, you will realize it was all a smokescreen. This is gourmet food, camoflaged as standard Southern comfort food. But the charm is that the food really *is* still comforting, the creativity never makes you feel less than, and the prices are VERY affordable. A true gem of the Petersburg area, stop by and blow your tastebuds away today!
I wish i could remember the name of the hotdog i had yesterday… i remember exactly what was on it it was the beef hotdog w/short rib slaw) AND BOYYYYY was it yummy! the seasoning on the fries was so delicious! service was quick professional! i wish they served hard liquor because i would put about four of those dogs back with a couple shots.
Great doughnuts and the staff and owner were great very inviting I definitely recommend
Nice local spot in Petersburg. A lot of options if you like the trendy toppings on donuts. Honestly the plain cinnamon and sugar warm out of the fryer was the best hands down. Small size donut which is nice if you want to try a few different ones. Nice crunch on the exterior with a great buttermilk flavor on the side.
