Phu Khao Lak Thai - Phangnga

Khaolak thaifood restaurant area in a smal street from the main road (thanon phetkasem). restaurant does not see special, plastic / wooden chairs and tables, open cloud flash light. Three times in a short time I've eaten there. friendly and attentive personal, very good eating with fantastic taste. large menu with a lot of meal times. sample: red snapper with rice very delicious. with sweet sour also delicious. drinks: water, no alcohol or beer. excellent price for such a very good meal as a street restaurant.

A great restaurant, delicious food! we had garnelen tempoura, huh with cashews and massaman curry garnelen. and bananen frittata with ice. oh, ehm, tasty! and also full points for the service staff.

This restaurant is more at the upper end for khao lak and native, ambiente and food choice as well as food quality reflect it. we enjoyed their huge selection of food and drinks and we came twice as we visited.

We passed this attractive looking restaurant a few times, but thought it wasn't suitable for vegetarians until we noticed their small veggie menu. Most tables are on their verandah or outside in a lush garden setting, creating a beautiful ambiance, especially at night when the lights and lanterns are lit. For our first dinner we chose the som tum papaya salad which we both love, and by which we often judge a new restaurant. It passed with flying colours! We also tried a very nice yellow vegetable curry, and sensational fried tofu in tamarind sauce. The latter was so good, we ordered it again the next evening. We also had a veggie massaman curry, again, utterly delicious. For desserts we just had to try the mango sticky rice, here served with ice cream, lovely; but the banana split was also good. They have a decent cocktail list, mostly classic, and the ones I tried were well made. Of course, the fruit shakes are always available if you don't want alcohol I can recommend the coconut shake. Even their cappuccino, from a proper expresso machine, was good. The waiting staff is nice and friendly almost everywhere in Thailand, but here they are a cut above the rest. They are all well trained, professional, charming, helpful, and knowledgeable with a good command of English. Service was fabulous throughout our two visits. Both dinners were THB1000 incl. a tip, which represents excellent value. Had we stayed longer in Khao Lak, we would have certainly gone again.
