Flambo Caribbean - Philadelphia

After I grew up in a Latin household and grew up in new york city, I am used to authentic trinidadic cuisine both from home and from restaurants. I moved from new york and left me in reading pa where there was only 1 Caribbean restaurant, but it wasn't trinidadian. I came over flambo restaurant thru google and was not disappointed. I ordered a bucking curry chicken roti first only to try them and was very impressed and then decided to order for an event and I don't have to say the least disappointed. very authentic, great service, family-oriented and above all friendly and hearty.

What a wonderful experience from first conversation through the very end! We were looking for a space to host our wedding rehearsal dinner and since my family is Trini and the wedding is in Philadelphia I was so excited to learn about Flambo. The website and instagram alone enticed, and the professionalism and communication with Kevin was wonderful (especially as a stressed out type A bride). Flambo was lovely enough to offer us a tasting of our options and they collaborated with us to build the menu we were seeking. After THAT TASTING, I had no worries about the rehearsal, I just couldn't wait to show up. The day of the rehearsal the restaurant itself provided such an elegant relaxed caribbean atmosphere. We did BYO and the Flambo staff were very attentive to our guests and when the food came everyone was blown away and so pleased with the food. So many of our guests have never had Trini food and they were obsessed, and my family (who is Trini) were delighted. Thank you so much Kevin, you helped kick off our wedding weekend with such a wonderful and delicious experience!

That was my first time in this restaurant and I surprise my trinidad friend. She loves the whole atmosphere as she remembers her. the quality of food was excellent and very good seasonal. the young female hostess welcomed us with open poor, she was very friendly. the price is very reason so much that we have ordered after our meal around us to go home. we will definitely go back.

Great food! very friendly staff. the lava cake and the goatery were amazing! will definitely visit again.

Came here with some friends on a Sunday for doubles and they had just sold out. After chatting with the staff for a couple minutes, they realized we had come out specifically for the doubles, and they surprised us by offering to start another batch just for us! Super nice people. We enjoyed a little walk around the neighborhood and when we came back, we were treated to the most incredible warm, spiced, delectable doubles. I can see why these sell out so fast! You can tell everything is made with a lot of love. HUGE thanks to the staff at Flambo for making our double dreams come true! I've been thinking about those doubles ever since and I can't wait to come back.
