The Vine Johnny's Pub - Pilgrimsrest

The only nugget in the whole of Pilgrims Rest. Great food and even better service

We took a drive to Pilgrims Rest and stopped for lunch at The Vines Johnny's Pub. Wow absolutely the best ever Oxtail on samp. And the Digger's Stew beef stew on rice excellent . Milkshakes, coffee, strawberry, lime great. Toasted ham cheese tomato. Toasted chicken mayo. Great potato Chips. We sat on the stoep which has beautiful mountain views and watched the rain come pouring down the valley. The Tea could improve one tea bag but in a big tea pot does not work A truly delightful restaurant with wonderful warm hospitality. We loved the quietness and the antiquity.

We had drinks at Johnny's Pub and had such a good time.. memories made... small group of people only when we got there... also due to loadshedding the place closed earlier than normal.. when in Pilgrims I would recommend this pub.. people super friendly and made us feel extremely welcome..

The food was DELICIOUS. My husband had the lamb curry and I had the beef stew. It was hearty and felt like it was a family recipe. The owners and staff treated us so well. Best beef stew I ever ate!
