The coleslaw was sweet and light. The Cheese Toastie is delectable. Hot, gooey and amazing. The cod sandwich has a huge block of sweet, flaky cod wrapped in a homemade beer batter that is light and crispy. The Romaine lettuce and red onion pair with it nicely for a symphony of flavors and textures. Good value for money. Our server was there alone on a Saturday afternoon but we were sat promptly, drinks came, ordered appetizer and it came out hot and tasty and ordered our meals and they came right after we finished eating the appetizer. Drinks were refilled and he checked on us regularly. The decor is beautiful in the historic hotel building. The Coffered ceiling is beautiful. Dark wood and marble surround you. Definitely going back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish, Chips, Warm Soft Pretzel, Cod Sandwich
Callie was our server and did an excellent job of taking care of us. We started off with their pretzel and beer cheese. This had to have been the best pretzel I have ever eaten. Then my wife had the seared salmon, mash, zucchini and squash and I had the fish and chips with coleslaw. The food was amazing and we had very generous portions. Can’t wait to visit again. Have I mentioned how much I love serendipity? I was on a bike ride from Urbana and met my Mom and her little dog at Kiser Lake. From there we drove on to Piqua while I searched for a place with a patio that allowed pups and we found Scottish Thistle! We enjoyed great Jameson margaritas, food and the vibe. It warmed my heart to later read how this restaurant came to be from a trip to Scotland. Thanks for sharing your Scottish inspired experiences with the rest of us Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I was super impressed the first 2 times with this place. But on the 3rd trip and ordering the burger again, it was a dud...not sure what the meat was but it was nasty and so disappointing. My husband gets the fish and chips which is also delicious but he said it was not the same on our last visit.
