Biergarten At Monaco Pittsburgh

The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a drink with friends. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. I wouldn't recommend ordering the pretzel—it's ridiculously overpriced at $28 for its size. We couldn't help but laugh when it arrived.

I believe this restaurant has great potential, but our visit was rather unusual. I arrived with my wife and a couple of friends around 8:40 PM, and the place was less than half full at best. The host was unnecessarily snobbish, insisting that he couldn’t seat us until 9 PM without a reservation, or unless we were hotel guests. I can accept that, but their Google description is very inviting and doesn’t mention any of the restrictions we encountered upon arrival. To avoid disappointment, I recommend making a reservation in advance, as the atmosphere is not as casual as they portray it to be.

The view is fantastic, but unfortunately the food doesn’t live up to the same standard. I ordered the $18 Burrata and after waiting 23 minutes, I felt like I would have been better off grabbing something from the frozen aisle at Rite Aid and warming it up under a lamp. On the bright side, the ambiance is lovely!

Such a fun place to celebrate our 11th Anniversary! Excellent service, great atmosphere, and Larry went above and beyond to make it a special night for us!

Nice spot. Feels like you are in NYC. Food was good. Salad (the homemade thick creamy dressing was fabulous) and humus dish. Limited menu.
