El Sol - Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa

We were not in the hotel, but wanted to go somewhere special for the last night of our honeymoon before we return to Sydney. What an amazing experience! Food and service were fantastic. Especially the Shrimp Ceviche with coconut milk, chia and green apple. They had a live acoustic set that gave the venue a nice ambience. I'm glad we came back to breakfast the next day. Hope to visit again soon

Elegant colonial resort surrounded by beautiful jungle and opposite one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. I live in Playa del Carmen and most of the resorts are all inclusive. It is a jewel to have opened this beautiful hotel for non-residents. The food is beautifully presented, the view is fantastic, they have great cocktails and the staff is very pleasant and professional. It is a little expensive as expected for setting. Worth a visit.

My husband and I had a confirmed table reservation for Nye. A tour in a taxi was 75usd. We have the gate and they wouldn't honor our reservation. In fact, they didn't even leave us in the gate. We landed too late in our hotel to eat a restaurant and snacks for or nye meal. Terrible

I love this restaurant in my favorite group of hotels, Belmond. W keep coming back every time we are in the Cancun area. The setting is perfect, it feels like the time has stopped. Really wonderful. Very good chef an nice food. Truly enjoyable. Service could be better I do not know what happened this time but we had to pour our own water and wine, move plates that we did not need any more, timing was not so good. A bit disappointing we are not perfectionists but this was a decline from the last time we visited to the point that we really noticed. We will be back and we hope that this was just one off time when this happened.

We spent 4 nights at the Belmond and had all of our meals there. The food is phenomenal and the staff is even better. Thank you to Fernando, Moses, and Lavia for making our entire trip very memorable.
