Since the Beach Diner is right in front of Point Pleasant Beach Station and wasn’t busy, we decided to go there. We sat in a booth, ordered drinks, and placed our order—a black bean burger and a Jersey burger, which should have been straightforward. As we waited, I noticed the waitresses leaving with large bags of food. After nearly thirty minutes, my girlfriend and I were beginning to lose patience; we were the only customers, and our order wasn’t complicated at all. Finally, after waiting over half an hour, the waitress informed us that they had run out of black beans. We placed our order thirty minutes ago and only now were told? We were the only ones in the diner! In any case, we paid for our drinks and left. I don’t plan on returning. Instead, we went to a small bagel shop just around the corner and got our burgers in under ten minutes!
I visited this restaurant for a birthday breakfast and ordered the stuffed French toast with bananas and Nutella. It was incredibly generous in portion and absolutely delicious! I found it both tasty and satisfying!
We initially waited to be seated, but no one from the staff came to assist us, so we ended up leaving, along with two other groups. However, we decided to give the restaurant another chance, and we were glad we did! Our waitress, Jennifer, was incredibly sweet and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we even returned the next day for more. Everyone was welcoming and kind. I wish I had known about the power outage during my first visit, which led me to walk out. I apologize for my earlier review; I've increased my rating and wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
Such a nostalgic place, so nice and quaint. The food is always hot and fresh and if there isn't anything on the menu you like ask for it they will be more than happy to make it for you. Terry was our waitress for the duration of our stay and she was amazing, super friendly and service was quick. Prices are also very reasonable I almost felt like I was robbing them the prices were so low but the quantity and quality was excellent! I'll be back next summer and the next and the next because of the excellent service. :Update... I met the owner for the first time and she was not only beautiful but super friendly and she asked me if I was Annie but I think I miss understood and she was actually looking for me Andy, lol . This place is a gold mine, food, service and just the over all atmosphere was such a pleasure to be there. I'm going to miss this place but we'll be back next summer for sure!
I'd really say 3.5 stars. Make sure to approach from Cincinnati Ave, which is a one-way street, to enter the diner's back parking lot. Otherwise, parking can be tough on busy Arnold Ave in summer/tourist season. The food was okay, but service wasn't good. The waitress was very slow in checking in with us, empty glasses sat for quite a while, even though it wasn't that busy. The staff were mostly huddled together talking with each other and one or two local yokels. A woman sitting near us had to send her fish back because it was bad. The waitress agreed and apologized, so be careful there. Food was okay, typical diner fare.
