Atelier Hortense - Poperinge

Super fun and cozy restaurant with vegan pies, wizards and an option for oatmeal and soy milk. What I took was really heavenly!

We had made a reservation for the special dinner on Thursday evening 27/07. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the beautifully decorated setup. Unfortunately, the evening did not meet our expectations. We were surprised to learn that the menu for the night was entirely plant-based, which was not mentioned in the invitation. Some of us in our group prefer meat or fish, but we decided to be open-minded and enjoy the experience. However, the service was slow and it took a long time for each course to be served. The appetizer, for example, arrived after most people had already finished their drinks. An additional drink had to be purchased. The invitation had promised an appetizer, a snack, a buffet, and a dessert, but due to bad weather, the format had to be altered. Some dishes were shared among the guests, but there was not enough for everyone, leading to some awkward moments of deciding who gets what. While we enjoyed the food itself, it did not meet our expectations in terms of value and quality. It was disappointing, especially since the restaurant is usually a great spot for coffee and cake.

Atelier Hortense offers a wonderful ambiance and atmosphere that is highly recommended for anyone seeking a special place to enjoy a relaxing and pleasant meal. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing time... The dish of the day (farmhouse sausages on a bed of grilled tomatoes, new potatoes salad) and the pastries were to die for! The atmosphere is relaxing... And as young parents we really felt at ease, so I would add baby friendly!! Without forgetting the staff, very pleasant! We will come back often
