Anna's Pizza Italian - Poquoson

This is a fantastic spot for takeout pizza and pasta. I really loved the Tortellini de Anna and the Alfredo pizza. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are generous.

My last visit to Anna's was fantastic, but unfortunately, tonight's experience was quite different. I ordered the Veal Parmesan again, while my wife chose the Chicken Parmesan and my grandson had a chicken sandwich. Both chicken dishes appeared to be made from very thin, frozen patties that were overcooked. My veal patty was passable, but the sauce lacked any flavor. I found myself adding parmesan cheese in an attempt to enhance the taste. The only aspect that matched my previous visit was the bread, which was excellent. The waitress was very kind and attentive, making it hard to be too critical about the food in front of her. However, I fear it will take a long time before I decide to risk dining at Anna's again.

We have came here for many years. The food is always the same and is very consistent. They have different Subs, salads, pizza, and the traditional pasta meals. We ordered baked ziti (asked for extra sauce) and it comes with fresh bread. We usually ask for extra bread as well to eat with our leftovers. They have a great house dressing which you're able to buy for 6.99 if you wanna take a bottle home. My sister ordered a calzone with just cheese and it had marinara sauce to dip on the side. We had a party of 7 and we were seated within a minute. They were not very busy then. After we got our food the service went down hill, we didn't get drink refills. They did have a few other tables set which seemed to be overwhelming for the 2 waitresses. We went to the counter to ask for boxes and refills for our drinks. Our waitress did come back and get us the last few things we needed. I will keep it 4 stars because it seemed to be understaffed and not their fault.

I'm giving this restaurant three stars, not because the food or service is poor, but because it's not my first choice for pizza. The pizza is decent, and the subs are above average. Each time I've visited, I've had a good experience. I really should come here more often.

I tried Anna's after living here for years because I'm always hearing they have great food. I Took my family and the kids got burgers, I got a meatball sub and chicken Alfredo. The sub was just ok.. Chicken Alfredo was horrible, chicken was overcooked, I have had better Alfredo sauce out of a jar. The burgers came on sub buns because apparently they ran out of hamburger buns. I have to say I was very let down overall. The service was great however our server was wonderful! Pricing was a little high for the quality of food. I am one to go back if I get a response on my post and give it a second chance I would definitely change my rating. Full disclosure I run Marco's Pizza but that in no way affects my ratings. I absolutely loved Mama Mia and was very disappointed to see them close up. We all only get better by hearing the truths.
