Argo Cafe Restaurant - PORT ADELAIDE

I had he lamb souvlaki and it was DELICIOUS. Beautiful and tender, just the right amount if seasoning. The serving sizes were on the bigger side, which I was pleased about. Will come back to try the seafood.

The most appalling uneatable breakfast I have ever been served in my life burnt mushrooms raw tomato and cold toast. This will be be the last time we set foot here.

Another restaurant suggested by a friend as I had never been before. When we (3) arrived we were seated straight away but that's because there was no one else in the cafe. We ordered some champers which arrived quickly and then looked at the menu. A large variety to chose from. We ordered the following oysters Kilpatrick - garlic bread - garlic prawns - salmon - (me) 3 combination yiros (lamb chicken pork) I also asked for tatziki sauce and yiros bread which didn't come with the dish but was not a problem. My guests enjoyed their meals my yiros combo was delicious. The meat very tender good servings and yiros bread great! Prices are VERY reasonable for the serving size and so were the drinks. Only negative better housekeeping on window stills dead flies and spider off putting. Service could be better as I cleared dishes from our table to the next. BUT food was excellent.

What an interesting night of dining. We arrived early and the place was vacant, within the hour it was pumping!! We all ordered Entrees, that was a huge mistake because we ate too much... the mains were very very generous! The meat was amazing! Didn't finish our mains and had to get take away containers. The waiting staff seemed a little unprofessional and clumsy, one plate collision near our table and then a guest at another table had a full glass of wine spilt all over his clothes!! Well priced old school Greek restaurant, we will be going back! ????

I took my family to Argo's for dinner on Saturday night, and the meat for the lamb souvlaki was very undercooked and there was a hair in the Hellenic meze. When I politely asked the staff to resolve the issue, I was given a napkin to sort out the hair myself from the indian waitress, whilst the owner ignored everything I said even when I translated it to Greek.  This service came at  great shock as I have dined at Argo's before and received excellent service for Father's day dinner, though service seems to have downgraded since then. Will not be dining there again.
