Cafe Central Port Douglas

Stopped in for lunch at Cafe central and from the outside looks quite tropical and with the afternoon sun was just a great place to sit and enjoy the clean air. We decided to have some lunch but was pretty ordinary and had to ask the waiter twice for our tropical juices but they were very nice juices. Maybe worth stopping in for a juice but give the meals a miss.

We came for 'happy hour' 5pm drinks and stayed until midnight with the staff asking could we relinquish our bar stools and order our last drinks. Didn't even go for dinner elsewhere as planned. Just ordered a couple of pizzas and their chips. Food was fine, nothing extraordinary but all fresh. A really well located pub, central for people watching, having a great natter into the evening with a cool drink in hand.

This review is a little unusual because the cook was on holiday and the cafe was serving a limited menu when we visited. The cafe is very popular. What we ordered was very well prepared and tasty.

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Cafe Central.The menu is simple but with a couple of nice "different" options (Drovers Dream sounds great). But this time my partner and I both chose The Hollandaise Special, and i have to say it was delicious.Also a big thumbs up to the Byron Bay Bun Coffee,just fabulous.

Best coffee in town! We have been three times already this week! Great food as well.sat outside and enjoyed breeze and view.
