Sulky Sam's - Port Elgin

The current Sulky Sams is a small five table restaurant at the rear of the former location which had been a full service restaurant, bar and licenced off-track betting parlour. Although there are sit-in tables available, the bulk of the patronage is for take away meals. The most popular choices are the burgers, chicken burgers, and fries. There are also fish and chips, salads, sandwiches, wings and onion rings available. This is a popular spot for sports teams after a game and for late evening appetites when all of the other local establishments are closed. Everything is made to order and you can expect a wait time of around 20 minutes.

While not officially listed on the menu, the French fries at this restaurant are a delicious surprise. With a spicy seasoning that enhances their crispy, golden exterior, they are the best fries I have ever tasted.

After attending a trade fair tonight, my husband and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. He ordered BBQ pork ribs while I opted for the buffalo chicken sandwich. I chose onion rings instead of fries and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were ample. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

I'm surprised this business hasn't been added to Yelp yet! I had a lovely experience with my family here for a Saturday night dinner while staying at the
