Thinking it might have been frozen and not fresh. Sent it back twice. All entrees with the exception of scallops come with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were just ok. The scallops come with risotto. The risotto was not good. Very sticky/pasty. Our server said it comes pre-packaged so she doubted the taste/texture would be any better. The scallops were good and cooked perfectly though. Not sure why a high-end restaurant wouldn’t prepare their own risotto. Oh, my husband found a price of plastic in his potatoes. Ugg. Had high hope for this place but we won’t be back.
WOW! Date night? If you haven't checked out The View lately, GO! We almost missed out because of the old reviews (pre new chef) and patio reviews.Dinners are downstairs and that is where we ate. There is an upstairs patio for small bites and cocktails only. I recommend eating downstairs and then heading up for a cocktail afterwards.I really wish we had gone a few weeks ago because we leave tomorrow and this is now our new favorite in the area! I thought because of some of the earlier and patio reviews that it would be ok but it completely exceeded our expectations in every way. It was just EXCELLENT. We live in Chicago and dine out often so we are pretty picky. Everything we ate was delicious and cooked perfectly. The View restaurant is a bit hidden but such a lovely spot with a nice view out back.We had the crab stuffed mushrooms, the filet (sauce for that was so incredible), lobster/steak and bannanas foster flambe. The staff was super attentive, friendly and on the ball. They worked together as a team. They made our last night in town feel really special. We will be back next year at some point in the Fall and will plan on visiting a few times then.Thank you all so much for a truly wonderful evening.
The ambiance was great. The downstairs restaurant has a nice decor with a large bar and great views. We went with a couple of friends who had been there before. But they only went to the upstairs restaurant/bar area. They raved about how good the drinks and their grouper tacos were. So, we had high hopes for the downstairs, more formal dining experience. Let's just say that we were very disappointed with our entrées. We really enjoyed the appetizers, though.
The best Lobster Lettuce Cups (wrap) and Caprese salad! The view from upstairs for the sunset is amazing!
Food was tasty for the most part. They were out of all of their house wines, lemonade and the menu was completely different than our previous visit... I was definitely disappointed there was no menu online on mention of new ownership. The current menu information online and via Yelp is their old menu before ownership changed. The menu is now completely different. Would also suggest mentioning the chicken quesadilla is heavily curry and not at all what we were expecting. We told the server so and he apologized, but no effort was made to remove it, have a manager come by or offer us something else left us with a mediocre experience.
