Generals Cafe Grill - Porterville

The service is fantastic! friendly staff that makes a good job, and eating is ok. not great, but ok.

But on the 65s to travel not the henderson exit cuz pass them a very beautiful place, the people are great the price is that but eating is good, they will love it. pa.

As a breakfast spot, the cafe is decent. The service is quick, and my food came out hot and faster than I expected. I had the breakfast sandwich with hash browns and it was good. The ham didn't taste very fresh, but the buttery bread and fresh cheese made up for that. I added my hash browns to the sandwich for added flavor. The one thing that always hangs me up about Generals Cafe is how expensive it can be. I only got the breakfast sandwich and a soda and it cost me $20. The sodas are already expensive at around $3.59, but when I was offered cherries and cherry juice (the juice that the cherries come in) to make a cherry Pepsi, I wasn't informed that would be an additional charge and take the cost of my soda from $3.59 to $4.49. This place is a decent step up from Denny's, but if you're looking for cheap, I'd go to Denny's.

I went there today after an appointment. The food is pretty much as it always has been. I was seated right away and someone came to take my order quickly. So, I ordered the soup, salad and garlic bread. I was told that is only offered in weekends. The menu does not reflect that. So I ordered fish and chips. They were okay. Not as good as at other places on town, though. And the prices were too high. They need to offer a daily special or three that don't test the pocketbook apart.

I understand every now and then staff will mess up on your orders and mistakes will be made... But that's when the manager needs to step up and make things right and not get combative when someone brings the mistakes to his attention.... I like the food and I keep giving this place a second and third chance and the staff keeps disappointing by messing the orders..no bueno....sad
