Maximos Taqueria - Porterville

I’m honestly disappointed and feel like I was overcharged. I ordered two burritos—one with a mix of asada and tripa, and the other was just tripa. They did mention that the tripa would cost extra, but I didn’t expect my total to be $40. They said the drinks were included, but that's still a lot. I won’t be coming back here again.

I ordered the burrito bowl, carne asada fries, and chips with salsa and guacamole to go. The green salsa had a nice kick to it, and everything was well-packaged. Everything tasted fantastic. Food rating: 4/5.

Their burrito bowls are excellent and filling. They're definitely worth the price, and I often opt for double meat, even if it costs extra. However, the meats can be quite greasy, so I usually stick to the chicken. The steak and pulled pork tend to be overly oily for my taste. Personally, I wasn't a fan of their burrito. Food: 4/5.

The service has definitely declined compared to how it used to be. The food is still quite good, but my recent experience was frustrating. I called to place an order and was put on hold for ten minutes. After that, I hung up and tried calling back for another five or six minutes without success. Eventually, I decided to drive to the restaurant. When I arrived, I noticed they weren’t busy at all, yet the phone was still off the hook with my call on hold. It would really help if they had someone dedicated to answering the phone and managing the register, as this has been a recurring issue.

The hours listed on their website and Google indicate that they are open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, but when we arrived, they were closed. Very disappointing and a waste of time.
