I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is lively and pairs perfectly with the sushi! They had some innovative sushi options on the menu, and we enjoyed the sushi on the rotary as well as ordering some of our classic favorites. Everything was served quickly and at a great price. We definitely plan to return!
As for the ambiance, the wallpaper is peeling at the corners, and the conveyor belt always appears a bit unclean. Fortunately, the music isn't overly loud, which is a plus. In terms of pricing, most plates are $1.50, $2, $3, or $5, with only a few $1 options (like tamago, inari, and pickled radish). The staff is satisfactory. We’ve been greeted and seated promptly and have not encountered the issues some other reviewers mentioned. In fact, we've had staff check on us several times throughout our meal. When it comes to the nigiri, the quality can vary. Some days it’s great, and today was one of those good days with tasty salmon, yellowtail, eel, natto, seaweed salad, and tuna. However, the rolls tend to be more fried varieties with cream cheese and crab, lacking in traditional options. Today’s variety was impressive; we arrived around 1:30 PM and found an array of choices, only having to request two items that weren’t on the belt. One downside is the condition of the plates. The bottoms have an unpleasant texture, perhaps due to some residue from old barcode stickers. For plastic plates, I expect them to be smooth, and this inconsistency raises concerns about cleanliness. I only noticed this after I was passed a plate and felt the uncomfortable texture while holding it. Overall, while I don’t have major complaints, there are definitely areas that could use improvement.
Sushi Land was my go to for sushi many, many years ago. Over the past few years these places have gone down hill, not kept up, dirty stainless steel, (how do they NOT see this). The business is owned by a Japanese company but I don't think they visit these shops anymore. On top of all this they are raising there prices.? Why are they raising prices? The sushi is the same low quality. The service is low rate. The place is dirty! This is the main reason I don't visit anymore. Managment and employees have lost interest in these shops. So many better places nearby, why should I go here?
Something happened. Lower quality, smaller portions, higher prices, poor service. An awful experience. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
