Bailey's Bayou - Portsmouth

Great food! This is not a watered down take on New Orleans cuisine it’s the real thing. The gumbo has the proper black pepper punch 99 percent of “gumbos” outside Louisiana lack. I’ve spent a lot of time in New Orleans and this is my go to Cajun/Creole place in the 757.

Excellent shrimp po boy. Offered military discount which was a nice bonus. Highly recommend for authentic Cajun cuisine.

Me and my family went here to get a nice lunch after church . The ordering process was very easy, and food was GREAAATTTT! No one had any complaints and we are a family of six. The alligator bites were super good and the sauce that went with it was amazing. I also had the shrimp linguini cajun pasta and the portion was big enough for me to take home to have for dinner. I also got beignets to take home and me and my husband had to try them while they were fresh and they were so light and fluffy and sweet, soooo good, he is still talking about them lol. I will definitely be back again.

I didn't know what to expect after I ordered my food because I've never been to this restaurant and there wasn't many reviews but the food was SLAMMING! I had the Cajun blackened chicken and yellow rice with a side of beignets and it was so good. I highly recommend.

Crawfish Etouffee here brought me back to NOLA. Very good. Great service and great food. Highly recommend a visit.
