I remember when they did not have to call the waiters/worships if they could order fresh pommes and feed them to a baby (they were soft enough in the past). they even had a complaint and they would make it their satisfaction the next time. this was my favorite place especially for my birthday I would travel hours to this place it was always best from ny and nj. the last time I left, my last time would be that I was never so dissatisfied with the poughkeepsie red robin.
Eating was good, service was not existent. the waiter came to ask how the dinge go, but did not bring any additional serviettes asked twice or more pommes asked three times, refilled coffee as we betrayed that it is. gave them another chance for bad service about six months earlier. like the burgers, but the service is still terrible, true.
The food was especially hot served and refilled fried were hot. had to ask twice for water and woman had taken away silverware after the appetizer. she asked the waitress to set another, but she never returned with him, so the woman took a set herself. space is always clean. the service is hit or miss, no matter how busy. vegetarian options: veggie and in addition meat choices child-friendly: outside the bar area parking: large parking wheel chair accessible: easy access to the ramp
It’s a chain restaurant, so don’t expect amazing food. We’ve visited this location periodically since we moved to Dutchess three years ago because my son loves it. Most of the food is fine, it’s not my first choice of place togo for burgers, but it’s generally reasonably priced with rewards/coupons throughout the year. I had several reward coupons and my son was off of school today, so he wanted to go for lunch. First, the kids meal used to be half-price on Wednesdays but now it requires a promo code to redeem. Not a big deal since it’s not really that expensive anyway, just more of an annoyance. There were many signs throughout the restaurant and we were also warned by the host that there are supply chain issues, so they were out of most items and they only had burgers and fries. I had a coupon for a free dessert which I planned to redeem today but they had no desserts. I had another coupon for a free appetizer so I asked the waiter and he said he “thought they had pretzel bites and onion rings and the coupon should apply to those,” so I decided to redeem my free birthday burger instead. Usually the food comes out pretty quickly but it took at least 20 to 25 minutes today (I took a picture of my son shortly after we ordered and the food did not come out for over 20 minutes after I took the picture, which is how I could confirm). Additionally, when it came out, everything was lukewarm like it had been sitting. My burger was good although I wish they would cook to requested temps. Luckily we were able to get drink and hot fry refills from the food runner. We were seated at a table without a working kiosk, which was an annoyance when we wanted the check. There was one waiter handling the entire restaurant and although he was mostly attentive, he seemed to lack any sense of urgency. We then had to give him our phone number for the rewards and he had to redo the check because of the kiosk not working, but yet he still managed to somehow double charge us so we had to track him down again, get refunded and be charged correctly. Overall between the long wait times, inability to redeem offers, room-temperature food and general frustration, I will not be going to Red Robin again anytime soon. I understand there are food and staff issues, but if I’m going out to eat, I don’t want to be frustrated. Five Guys is in the same parking lot and although it costs more, the food and service are much better. County Fare or Schatzi’s are much better options if we want a restaurant experience.
We've been really disappointed at Red Robin as of late. We've stopped in from time to time over the years and used to absolutely love it. But over the last 2 years every time we stop in, something isn't right, and it varies every time. A few times the burgers have been so greasy that the buns are soaked and literally dripping grease, another time we had a kids Mac and cheese come out cold, another time the bun on a chicken sandwich had to have been grilled right where a burger had just come off of because the bun tasted like burger, another time cold fries, another time no one ever came back to the table until we were done and ready to pay so we all ran out of drinks. Most recently we had a piece of chicken that wasn't cooked all the way. I will say that the manager we really attentive and quick to make it right when we had the issues with the partially uncooked chicken, but every time we have been here over the last 2 years, something has been wrong, not a good track record and we won't be going back after our most recent visit. Shame because they used to be good.
