Don Tequila Mexican Grill - Powell

The food is great, but the prices are becoming excessive. My family has been coming here for years, and it's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. However, I've noticed that my favorite dish has jumped from $15 to $17, and now it's $21. That part I can handle; I can always choose a cheaper option from the menu. What really pushed me over the edge tonight was the $15 bill just for non-alcoholic drinks—two Cokes and a lemonade for my son, all at $5 each! I asked the waiter if that was a mistake, and he replied, "Is this your first time here? That's how it’s always been." It certainly wasn’t my first visit, but it might be my last—at least until I hit the lottery.

This restaurant offers delicious food and excellent service! The cuisine has a classic Tex-Mex flair. The house frozen margarita is among the best I've tried in the Powell, Dublin, and Delaware area. The service is prompt, and the staff consistently takes great care of us. I particularly enjoy the birria chimichanga, and they also have fantastic seafood options for my dad, who follows a pescatarian diet.

When our entrees arrived, my youngest, who ordered her taco plain, received the wrong order, but it was corrected promptly. My oldest ordered the three chicken taco entree and said they were "meh," but we made her eat at least one. My husband ordered a steak dish, which he found just okay. My meal was also incorrect and had to be fixed. I noticed my daughter's mistake right away, but since mine was a burrito, I didn’t realize it until I cut it open. After they remade my dish, it was good, but by then, I had lost my appetite (I boxed it up and hope it reheats well). Unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning to this restaurant again.

Food was pretty good tonight but service was very lacking. All servers spent most of their time up front on their phones talking. Had to ask for everything. Plates, refills etc. not busy at all. too many places to eat. Not very happy. Seems to be going downhill.

I absolutely recommend this restaurant. The service, the quality of food, and the speed of service were above expectations. This was my first time here, but I will be back soon. The enchiladas were great, and I am particular about enchiladas and judge all Mexican restaurants based on their enchiladas. This is the only restaurant that passes my enchiladas test!
