We arrived at Koi during peak hour on a Saturday so it was quite packed. We sat by the bar waiting for a seated area to open up but we had so much fun sitting at the bar that we never moved. The bar staff was accomodating and friendly. The atmosphere enables conversation as it's not ridiculously loud. The drinks and dessert we ordered were delicious.
Classy and high-end. Must have cash to splash, but well worth it. I had glad of Shirah, which was really good. My friends shared a bottle of Rose, which they couldn't get enough of. I don't recall the name though. I chose the duck which was a little disappointing. It was nicely presented and fun to build the little wraps, but it was dry, and tasted like chicken, which should never be the case. The sushi on the other hand, was sublime. A work of art. I have had sushi at plenty of restaurants, but this is without a doubt the best.
Restaurant was beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly but a little bit slow. We ordered all 3 boa buns and then the Korean friend chicken wings and some sushi. The boas were out of this world the crab one was a little strange as we’d never had crab like that before but the chicken and beef one are definitely worth going back. The wings and the sushi were nothing to write home about the sushi rice wasn’t that fresh.
Delicious food and great service in a nice Japanese ambiente with love for detail. The baked cheesecake is a must try, as well as the Spicy Siam mocktail. One point for improvement the temperature in the restaurant was too cold for my liking. There were heaters unfortunately, they were placed right next to an open door. Apart from that, great overall experience and would recommend.
