El Palacio - Puerto Plata

Our stay was pretty bad. The owners manage the hotel and are super nice. The hotel is located on a quiet side street near all main attractions in Puerto Plata. The building was lovingly restored and the rooms are spacious and very well maintained (and had efficient and quiet AC). For breakfast we made eggs to order, fruit, dughurt, pancakes, bread, etc. and everything was super good.

Gorgeous historic hotel, very quant! They offer breakfast at an extra cost and have a very sweet resident dog. Beautiful outdoor patio with a hot tub and friendly staff. On a quite street (on street parking) with a security guard.

This hotel is really a hidden gem, we found it with pure luck. Stan and Mariana were fantastic hosts. They treated us like family, always smiling and friendly. They have brought back an old colonial house from the 30s, which adds some modern convenience, but retains the original character of the house. Breakfast was delicious and it was amazing on the terrace. The place was well maintained and beautiful inside and outside and the price was very reasonable. We wouldn't have asked for a better place.

Our favorite place to stay in the country! Responsible and welcoming host pair and staff. Our host made us a great breakfast in the morning, on the terrace with a view. Room is clean, quiet, spacious, with high ceiling and exquisite European style. Thank you.

Amazing place to stay. Location is right downtown and walking distance to a few attractions and lots of restaurants. Breakfasts were great and filling; yoghurt, fruit, breads, cheese, egg dish, coffee and juice. Host was super nice and helpful. Great suggestions on places to eat, helped us get cabs, find a guide for a hike and even gave us a ride one day when it was raining. Rooms were very clean. No room safe but there was one in the office if needed. There is a small pool which was perfect for cooling down mid-day. So much better than staying on a resort.
