Rico's Public House - Pullma

I had the Pullman’s best Reuben, it was ok not the worst one I’ve ever had. Sat at the bar. The service from the bartenders could have been better. Instead of asking if I wanted another drink she just gave me my tab and cashed me out . So I paid and left.

I just stepped into a time capsule because Rico’s has not changed a bit since i last visited in the early 90’s, and i mean that in the best way possible. Priyanka (i hope that’s correct) took care of us, and was exceptional in every way she’s awesome. Prices are very reasonable, food was tasty, and our drinks were great too. 10 out of 10 and a very easy place to recommend.

French dip was horrible. Charred roast beef to the point of burnt gyro. The “Au Jus” was not even warm bone broth out of a container. I asked for tequila. The server didn’t know what they had. I walked over to the bar to look, an older lady that worked there walked over and whispered at her, she told me nicely to go back to my table? LOL. I’m 47. Ridiculous. I heard my same server tell the table next to me they didn’t have chocolate Martinis. The guy pointed it out on the menu and she apologized. She then sold 3 of them. Horrible food. Untrained green servers. Overpriced. When my bill came, she rang it up on a tablet and faced it to me, clearly watching to see what tip I’d give. 18% was the lesser of all options. I would have given 15. My minimum. Had she not been horrible I would have given my usual 25%. I won’t be back. Horrible college bar with bland food.

This is my favorite place in town. I absolutely love Tawny and the staff. As a graduate student, this bar has helped with my move across the country. When I first came to town, the open mic was my first community and I am eternally grateful for that. In the years since, I have been able to come in when I am stressed after a long day of work, and the staff has always been wonderful to chat with. To my knowledge, this is the only bar in town with consistent live music on Fridays and that has been wonderful as well. They can get busy during the weekends, but the usual clientelle are townies and graduate students, so it doesn't feel like an overwhelming college bar like many of the undergraduate bars. The pool tables are the best and cheapest in town. I could go on, but I suggest you go here instead and draw your own conclusions.

Fish and chips were excellent and service was great. Recommend!!
