Írjon visszajelzéstI visited ZZU last Tuesday to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. They advertise closing at 2 AM, but when we arrived at midnight, the place was completely empty—not a single customer or staff member in sight. The doors were unlocked, and the TVs were still on, which was really odd. We checked the whole bar, but it seemed deserted. If they decided to close early, they should've put up a notice or at least locked the door.
The food and service were incredible, as always. The menu has been updated, and they've started offering brunch even on weekdays. Unfortunately, I can't find their updated hours and menu on their website. I'm quite particular about drinks, preferring sweet options, and the bartender perfectly crafted a custom drink that I loved. Their cheesecake is absolutely delightful and light.
We asked them to turn down the three loudly blaring TVs, requested menus, asked for water, and finally placed our order. We started with drinks, but the server forgot two coffees that were ordered by members of our party. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, which was quite unpleasant—sweet, flat champagne made it taste like overly sugary juice. After an hour and a half of being ignored, except when one of our group went to the bar, I had enough. We canceled our food orders and left. We went home and made our own brunch instead. I understand that things can go wrong and that leisurely Sunday brunches can be enjoyable, but I don’t want to spend my day off being ignored by staff in a dirty bar and not getting to eat. To their credit, the hostess/bar staff did apologize as we were leaving and mentioned that our server had actually left in the middle of our visit. I don't know what happened, but it seems Zzu is not equipped to handle brunch service. Stick to wings and tacos at night, because you're not living up to the standard you set for yourselves.
I decided to check out the ZZU for brunch. When we arrived, there weren't many people at the ZZU, so our waitresses were attentive and refilled coffee and water glasses regularly. This is a great place for weekend brunch. The menu has some good stuff on it; waffles, breakfast sandwiches, entrees and omelettes. Entrees include huevos rancheros and breakfast enchiladas, a twist on chilaquiles. There's something for everyone. For my meal, I chose the OG sandwich toasted bread with mayo, egg (your way) bacon, lettuce and tomato. It satisfied my savory craving. See my pic! My hash browns were good, and not dripping in grease. The ZZU is cleaned up and is trying to be more than a bar. Check it out! The prices are reasonable for Pullman and portions are good sizes.
They are under new ownership and it's changed a lot since I went to school here. Pretty dang good food! The service is still working out the kinks! Definitely coming back! Mimosas!!!! Pitcher of juice and whole bottle of champagne! Solid. One weird thing: **** Mary's didn't have ice.
