We were out right in front of the tiki bar,we asked for a different room,and one with fridge,they said no problem...when we went to check in they charged us an upgrade fee and still no fridge,no iron either. Room was dirty,sheet had blood stain. We almost left but was too tired. The elevator stunk bad and carpets were stained. There was an inch of dust on most things. We asked them for 1 spoon they said don 't have any,ummm you are standing behind the coffee counter. We never ever complain,but this was crazy to be under new owners and not work on the place.
The company that owns this resort is in another country, the name is Airriva. You can’t understand them. They are very rude! They asked us several times for a scanned copy of our IDs, and for us to take a picture and send to them. So intrusive! They have no refrigeration or microwave like it claims on line. We stayed in 308 over the weekend. Our sliding door to the balcony did not lock, and the gulf carts are double than anyone else’s. And we didn’t get a discount for being a customer. To be honest, the bed was comfortable. They lady at the front desk was so sweet. Always a smile on her face. Always helpful, although this faraway company keeps her hands tied. I felt really bad for them. So…that’s all I got. Good Luck making reservations!
This is quite a hidden gem on Put-In-Bay. The staff, and upkeep of the resort were top notch. This is the first time we have stayed here, and were somewhat skeptical having read some poor reviews from several years ago. The new management has really turned this place 180 degrees in the right direction, if those bad reviews were any indication of how the resort USED to be. There are small improvements that still could be done (refrigerator/microwave in the room), and the parent company Arriva needs to streamline their booking and contact process. But, short of that, the time spent here was nothing of phenomenal! Understand, this resort is not designed for the younger crowd that is coming to the island to party hearty and get rowdy until the break of dawn. They do offer a Tiki bar, and pool and huge hot tub large enough for approximately 30 people. The coffee barista in the lobby was a very welcome sight in the morning. The staff were incredibly friendly, and very helpful on things to do off the beaten path of the main drag of bars, and knew the very best places to eat both breakfast and dinner. We were on the first floor and our room faced the pool/hot tub, Tiki bar, and a fabulous view of Lake Erie. A very nice patio with table and chairs to sit and people watch or Lake Erie watch. If you are patient with Arriva 's current booking/billing process, I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are very professional in every aspect we encountered. If relaxation is what you seek on Put-In-Bay and not getting radical, this is most definitely the spot for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
We absolutely love Bay Shore Resort. The view is amazing!! The pools, the hot tub and the tiki bar are a huge plus. The location is great as it is a short walk to downtown but far enough away for peace and quiet. The staff is awesome. Debi, who works at the front desk, always has a smile and a very pleasant personality. Cowboy, the bartender at the tiki bar and Stefan were exceptionally upbeat and fun. This was our third stay at Bayshore. We were disappointed that the restaurant on grounds was not open this time. Having to leave the resort to go downtown for breakfast took away time spent at the resort. My main concern was with the very intrusive booking process with Airriva. I was not comfortable with having to complete an application which included sending a front and back copy of my drivers’ License and credit card and a selfie picture. I have never experienced this before. And then they ran two $2 charges on my credit card at the time of our application and another one week prior to arrival. It is a lovely place to stay, but if the restaurant isn’t open next summer and the booking process is still done through Airriva, I may try somewhere different.
The stay here was fine. The rooms were decent but definitely could have been cleaner. The staff seemed to not know much about how the place was run, which led to lots of confusion. There was no fridge even though it said there were fridges online so when we arrived with medicine and food that needed refrigeration there was no option for us and we were told “some rooms don’t have them” with no offer to help rectify the situation.The pool and tiki bar are the reason my review is a little higher, because they were both very nice amenities.The location is great.I’m not sure why the listing here says “smoke free property”.
