Il Pizzettiere - RAPALLO

Greta little spot very near cable car station where you can grab a quick lunch of pizza and beer or wine. Great value and filled with locals sitting on wooden benchs. Grab a beer from the fridge and open it yourself on one of the bottle openers attached to the wall on each table. Good selection of wine at reasonable prices too.

I've lived in Italy for 17 years now, and it was wonderful to discover what turns out to be my favorite pizzeria in Italy right here in Rapallo. This is a humble local place, absolutely no from-frou, and a very warm and cozy atmosphere. In addition to the pizza, there are a lot of other tasty dishes available, which presents a problem for me, because the guy who owns the place makes a pizza that is impossible for me to resist. The prices are ridiculously low, and they could double the prices and I'd still say it was a bargain. If any tourists manage to make their way up and away from the tourist traps along the shore, they'll find a little place that displays all the good things about Italy. This place isn't a ten, it's an eleven!
