The Sportsman - Reading

The service was good, and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant. However, the food was just okay. My peas and fish (with the chips) were tough, and there was too much batter with not much fish.

I have visited this restaurant regularly, and I always have a wonderful experience thanks to the friendly and welcoming staff. The amenities are excellent, featuring a pool table and dartboards.

Warm welcome, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about local area. Food looked good for prices, will definitely drop back for dinner soon!

I was contemplating to write this review or not but eventually came to conclusion that I should. Went there today early evening (1800 hrs) for a quick pint with one of my friend(both of us are British Indians). After cold reception we sat on a random 2 seater table with more than half of seating area empty. In 15 minutes we were told that table is reserved and A4 paper- this table is reserve at 1930 was put on small table of ours. We said, we are leaving. Won 't go there again anytime soon. So much for my local pub ...huh..
