Swiss Chalet - Red Deer

I generally love my dinning experiences at Swiss Chalet. In fact, this is my first exception. My half chicken dinner was representative of this menu item. However, my wife’s rotisserie chicken stir fry was not good to be civil. When she reached the lower portion of the meal she realized the rice was swimming in oil. That ended that experience. Also of note, was the service. There appeared to be only two staff in the front and they spent most of their time in the kitchen. So seating was slow, pop refreshers never came. Lastly, the ice cream in my chocolate sundae had ice crystals in it. My waiter tried to make amends by offering me a slice of lemon meringue pie, which was good.

I am a long time patron having grown up in Toronto near the original restaurant. Incredible ribs and chicken. Huge portion of fries. Excellent service. Due to a disability I don't go as often as I should but on the rare occasions when I do get out it is my first go to place!

My daughter and I were here for lunch yesterday and both the food snd service were great. Swiss Chalet fries are extra great and their own food group. The portions were incredible. What a great easy to read menu in clean surroundings,Thank you

Stopped in for a quick lunch and ended up ordering the 1/4 chicken dinner x 2 for my brother and I. The waiter Rohan was the most pleasant I’ve encountered in all my Swiss chalet experiences The chicken was supper tender and tasty, the meal was hot and came quickly. I give this Swiss Chalet a 10 on my list of restaurants to visit while in Red Deer.

For father's day I chose to go here. While the restaurant was full,we were seated promptly. There was just one waitress for our area and she did a good job. The BBQ'd chicken was excellent and the fries were plentiful. Boy do I love Swiss Chalet. In 1954 I was just around the corner from the original restaurant in Toronto. They have a new menu and while prices are up I didn't feel they are gouging their customers.
