Gene's Drive-in - Redding

Tater Tots. Seriously, get the Tots. Or maybe you are feeling in a more onion ring mood good choice as well. On a hot day, they have what can only be described as a ENORMOUS!!! soft serve ice cream cone, no really, that thing had to have been easily a foot tall, not counting the cone. Redding history, wonderful place.

Gene's is an example of how things use to be, and I for one am so thankful they're still in business. The prices are pretty good and so is the food. A micah burger beats a dam burger any day.

I have loved this place since I was a kid. It was sold and went downhill a few years ago, but has new owners as of May 2016. They are doing improvements to the building and menu. They were not able to buy the original 'Gene 's ' recipes, but they are doing a good job of making the new fit with the old. The 'let there be bacon ' burger is so good. The peanut butter shake is worth coming back for! The traditional Thursday night classic cars still show up, maybe not as many as there used to be, but with good food again, hopefully the classics will come again.

Great Service, Cool Vibe, Good Burgers The theme is 1950's style drive in and that alone is cool enough. The service was fast and friendly and the food isn't phenomenal but its yummy! 4 stars only because last time I went they only had a port-o-potty and they aren't open late enough into the evening.

Excellent food and personable service. Very accommodating staff. Best fries in town, stay fresh through your whole meal. The burgers are as good as a backyard BBQ. Make sure to try their whole selection of shakes!
