Il Bergamotto - REGGIO DI CALABRIA

I honestly have not found anywhere pastries which beat Il BERGAMOTTO 's fresh delicatessens. They melt in your mouth and if Bergamotto isn 't your kind of flavour, no problem there are chocolate, nut and lemon alternatives. Seriously no matter where you come from, if you try the above you 'll totally love them. You can even order delivery of dry pastries and biscuits to anywhere you are in the world. SUGGESTED OPTIONS: Bergamot bigne ' and profitterol are my favourite. CUSTOMER SERVICE: So far it was excellent for me. ATMOSPHERE: You enter the cafe/pastry shop and find almost a museum of the bergamot which is a citrus fruit which only... and I repeat is ONLY grown in Calabria and traditional tools. With bergamot-like yellow and green interiors. COST CONTEXT OF MY EXPERIENCE: It is cheap, especially if compared to what they charge in other western European countries for ordinary pastries, not as good as these ones. If a similar unique place was in the hands of Israeli or Brits or North Americans it would probably not be affordable for the local community unless you split 1 bigne ' by the number of buddies you bring with you... : The good news is that it 's not the case. P.S: I lived in the UK for 15 years to present day and I always was a sweet tooth.

The pastries here are average. Did not reflect other reviews that drove me to find this place. Some where good mostly the bergamotto style and cream puffs. Almond and other regional products nothing to rave about.

The best desserts at the bergamot are here sinned that the bar is no longer in the reggio center, but it is worth going.

I have never in my life tasted something as delicious as a bergamot pastry made fresh by Il Bergamotto. My cousin took me there for a trial of this delicious fruit pastry. I also had a bergamot drink to accompany it. Apart from being delicious, it's good for your health. Il Bergamotto is a spacious and elegant bar/pasticceria in Reggio di Calabria. The colours used for the decor match that of bergamot, and confer a very warm and joyful ambiance. It is worth the detour to learn about this delicious fruit and a taste you will never forget; and the owners and staff will greet you with the warm hospitality of Calabria. I highly recommend Il Bergamotto!
