My wife and I stopped by for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. Don't let the size of the place fool you it's top notch! My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that she loved. I had a sausage and pepper sandwich from the specials menu that tasted incredible. For dessert she had the homemade ice cream sandwich and I had the carrot cake. Everything was extremely fresh and tasted great! Even the coffee was made to perfection. There's even a humorous story behind the coffee which you might want to try and coax out of the owners (who themselves were very nice and friendly people)! We will definitely be returning to this spot!

Matchbox Cafe is simply amazing my favorite place in the Hudson Valley. The fine restaurants on a paper plate Casual concept and cozy space focus on the fantastic food. The shrimp po' boy is kind. The grass fed beef Cheeseburger is delicious, served with a side of slightly crispy frits. To die salad. 5 stars desserts galore do not miss the red velvet cake!!!

Okay, just stopped during working hours. Never heard of the place or saw it. I ordered an egg sandwich with bacon and avacado. It was over $8 and I was crazy and unbelieving. I thought that was better the best egg sandwich I ever had. Guess what? It was the best egg sandwich I ever had in my life. The egg was fluffy and tasty, the avocado was ripe and perfect, but not excessively lubricated and generous in proportions. The bacon was so perfectly prepared that I can't even describe it - somehow it melts in your mouth with an explosion of taste I had never experienced and a roasted bungalow was incredibly delicious. WOW. Just fucking wound. EAT HERE. No one was there when I ordered so that my sandwich lasted less than 10 minutes, but I think that the care and love she put in the preparation of her food could mean long waiting times if there were more people in the restaurant. But probably worth waiting.

Perfectly hidden jewel in the Hudson Valley. Absolutely the best place to get a fast hearty meal when you travel on route 9 between Kingston and Rheinbeck. I give the service and food an A (the Veggie Burger is worth the ride).
