Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Richardson

I've been a regular at this restaurant since it first opened. The staff is usually fantastic, the theater is well-maintained, and the food is pretty good. However, I'm not giving it a five-star rating due to the outrageous prices since they reopened after COVID. Paying $7.50 for a simple drink is ridiculous. We should have checked the fine print regarding drink prices before ordering, but it honestly didn't occur to me since this has become a routine for us. I truly didn't expect to pay $15 for just a soda and tea—that's almost the price of an additional meal. Other menu items have also seen price hikes, but that drink price really stands out to me.

I went to this restaurant today to catch the Barbie movie. The food was amazing—we had fried pickles, and we also tried some soft drinks and a milkshake. My husband particularly loved that they use Amy's Ice Cream for their shakes. They even had fun props for photos related to the movie. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

I visited this restaurant over the weekend and was quite disappointed with the experience. They were understaffed, and my Coke Zero tasted terrible; they informed me it was because they had run out of syrup, which makes me wonder why they served it to me at all. We ordered only popcorn, but it took more than an hour to arrive. In the meantime, the man sitting next to us managed to consume two servings of the bottomless popcorn before we even got ours. On a positive note, they did remove the Coke Zero and popcorn from our bill, but overall, it was a letdown. This definitely makes a strong case for bringing your own snacks next time.

Of the 35 years I've been going to the movie theaters, I have yet to find a theater I enjoy as much as Alamo. From the pre-show commercials, extensive menu of varied food, mixed drinks and alcohol, to theater aesthetics and well trained staff, Alamo is my favorite theater and well worth the trip if you can stop in and catch a flick.

My Fiancée and I had an amazing experience here. This place is awesome for many reasons. The atmosphere is old timey what we loved also is that phones, talking, crying babies, etc.. does not happen here because they keep an eye on all that. It was nice to watch a movie with no chatter or phone distractions. Hopefully more movie theaters follow suit. I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
