The pasta entree has been removed from the menu, the butter chicken was bland, and at the salad bar there was no salad or broccoli potato cakes. My husband also noticed that there was no wine in the cooler and when he asked the cashier he was told to look again. When the cashier realized there was no wine he grabbed a bottle and he was unapologetic and terse. One of the water stations was broken (2 visits) and the tables were dirty and not cleared. We are hoping the food quality, customer service and clean environment will be improved.
The lineup was not very long but waited a long time to be served and then still had to wait further for the chips to be ready. Generally the food is average, nothing special and would only eat there if shopping and hungry. Prices appear good but comparable to any fast food restaurant, which is what this really is. Had the fish and chips which was very oily, fish was pretty tasteless with the exception of the oil. Would not have the fish and chips again. Been here a few times and not sure we will eat here again, perhaps just for coffee/tea and pastry.
The cafeteria like setting in the busy furniture store is euro-efficient. Never a bad meal for the price you pay. 10 bucks will get you a meat, potatoes and veg meal, dessert and a drink. New low sugar fruit water is pretty good. Wordless instructions on how to eat Swedish meatballs with an Allen key are helpful.
We ordered the Canadian and Traditional breakfasts. Food is served cafeteria style from steam tables. The scrambled eggs are OK, tomato slices are fresh, bacon cook is variable so my wife asked for crispy slices, sausages are two small links and home fries are deep fried potato cubes. Only negative quality was the toast that seemed to be brushed with olive oil instead of margarine or butter. Also there was no regular jam for the toast so we used some lingonberry jam. There is no decaf coffee.Seating is cafeteria style. At $2.49 and 2.99 for the breakfasts it is a great value.
Cannot beat a 75 cent hotdog. Just the best. The cheap frozen yogurt is a plus too. Coffee is nice and hot...actually very hot (be careful). Prices at the restaurant are better then acceptable. If you shop...a hotdog is a must.
