Sura Korean Bbq Restaurant Richmond

The food are wonderful and tasty! only a bit hot in sunny day if sit next to the windows.

We arrived with a group of 10 near to closing time, we were greeted warmly and then seated very rapidly. Most of us were novice at eating Korean BBQ and our server was very patient with us describing both the menu items and the serving process. The food came very quickly and was delicious!! The server was very attentive and there were many people who were supporting her. I wish I could remember her name.

Enjoyable experience. Sizeable interior. High ceiling. Booth seating. Has in-restaurant washrooms. Excellent meat. Refillable side dishes. Better service than most competing BBQ restaurants. Located on 1F Aberdeen Centre. Free plaza parking. Accepts credit, debit cards.

We got soy bean paste soup, bossam pork belly, and galbi beef short rib. All of them were solid!! The soy bean paste soup was a surprise and had so much flavor. The pork belly was also surprisingly good and tender. It has the right amount of fat to lean ratio and goes so well when paired with the side dishes!!

We had a terrible experience at Sura KBbq. Staff overall was very blunt, did not greet us and gave the restaurant a very uncomfortable atmosphere. When ordering, the menu was unclear and the descriptions are only written in Korean. One of the items we ordered was spicy cold noodles; one of the staff had been watching how we served it and decided it was appropriate to grab the bowl from my fiance's hands and tell us we were doing it wrong. I was shocked at how rude and ignorant he was, I had to take the bowl back and let him know we could eat our meal ourselves. Don't expect a server to come and check if you need anything or to refill your water. Finally when paying, the food was extremely overpriced for average quality meat; I decided not to tip based on our experience, the waiter took a look at my receipt and felt he should let me know the tip wasn't included in the bill and questioned why I chose not to tip with a very snarky attitude.
