Kintaro Sushi Train - RIDGEHAVEN

Honestly, the food taste great.. but the customer service is disgusting. Rude snobby waitresses who don't smile and make you feel unwelcome. Have come here a few times with friends but the wait is always terribly long and we once asked for table water and they tried to charge us for a refill! It's table water?? They also always just glare and look rude making everyone feel awkward and it's just not a good ambience. If you want a good sushi train experience I recommend you go to the real one - the staff are so welcoming AND they are actually Japanese so you know you're getting authenticity and they also have more options. Kintaro at TTP/Modbury has always let us down.

Came here looking forward to a nice happy dinner on a Monday evening, only to be terribly disappointed!!! It was literally one of our worst experiences ever and we left the place wishing that we never entered the restaurant in the first place. It started with us being seated for a good 10 minutes and still, no one bothered bringing a menu over for us despite the fact that the waitress was standing (staring into space) behind us. We eventually had to ask for a menu and it was another 15minutes before we managed to grab the attention of the waitress (they were huddled in a corner chatting and laughing away) to get our orders taken. We ordered a cup of hot green tea (the standard drink in any sushi restaurant) but the drink never came. When we finally enquired about the green tea (this was another 15 minutes later), the waitress babbled about there being only one cook tonight. Err, last I checked, it only takes 1 minute max to make a cup of hot green tea, and no cook or expertise is generally required. Bearing in mind this all happened on a night when the restaurant wasn't busy and the waiters and waitresses were busy talking amongst themselves instead of attending to customers and DOING WHAT THEY ARE BEING PAID TO DO. Sushi quality was poor and the selections on the belt were dismal. We ordered a ramen soup which was basically a bowl of tasteless soup with noodles and little to no other ingredients - only one tiny slice of mushroom and two slices of fish cake were given. We also ordered a teriyaki SALMON rice bowl but was served teriyaki CHICKEN instead. YOU HAD ONE JOB, WAITRESS. I did not think chicken and salmon sounded similar in any way. There was also a large notice in the restaurant stating "complimentary miso soup with any meal purchased". Well, guess what, our miso soup never came. Apologies for the long rant, but all in all, it was a terrible experience that spoiled what would have been a good night and money wasted on poor quality food and service.

Love the food... Was very fresh and taste great. They close at 830pm but were open beyond so we were able to eat and see a movie. We will be coming back soon.

This is my go to sushi train as it is in walking distance from where I work and every now and then I treat myself to lunch here. The place serves a nice range of different sushi plates ranging in prices which are colour coded which is good for this who want to keep a track of how much they are spending. The sushi here is nice and flavourful. The only complaint I have is that during busy times such as lunch time the place can get really full and sometimes you have to wait for a seat. Other than that this is a great place!
