Baja Cantina - Roanoke

The coconut margarita was excellent, but the other drinks were disappointing. There seemed to be something off with the tequila. I ordered the brisket tacos with rice and beans, and they were completely flavorless. I don't intend to return.

The food I've tried is average Tex-Mex, but I have no complaints! In Texas, if the Tex-Mex isn’t good, restaurants simply don't survive due to the intense competition. The place has a full bar, and its location in downtown Roanoke is convenient, with parking available right across the street.

This hidden gem features an impressive cocktail menu that is definitely worth exploring. We tried the spicy watermelon and Pepito margaritas, both of which were perfect for summer! We also indulged in their chorizo queso, which was absolutely incredible. For lunch, we enjoyed the Baja tacos, and they were fantastic as well. The service was excellent, with friendly smiles that made us feel welcome.

The guacamole was great but the salsa is so spicy. Service was a little slow, flour tortillas were hard, and the fajita meat wasn’t cut so it was pretty annoying to cut into slices with a butter knife. When there are so many other Mexican restaurants around, this was subpar.

Great food, but servers weren't communicative about what they were going to grab from the table and awkwardly just reached around you.
