Ben Gui Sushi - Roanoke

Trying to fulfill a need to find the best Sushi in any given area I tried this location tonight. I also wanted to see about a full meal of Sashimi. Having never done that I decided that tonight would be that night. As I had Nigiri and individual Sashimi elsewhere but never a full meal I went down the path. I still didn’t want to go over my set limits like Eel or squid. Having that I requested and these folks worked around that request. I ordered the 18 piece assortment. It had Tuna, Smoked Salmon, Crab , White Tuna and Albacore. Very nice large pieces and each was very good while allowing a different texture and flavor with each bite. Nicely plated and some vegetable garnish. Service was very good and willing to help with the request mentioned earlier. Attentive but not pushy. Started with the traditional salad with ginger dressing. For sure will be a go to at some point in the future as well. Good job!

Best sushi I've ever had. The 'trust me' rolls are awesome, great for beginners. I have one friend who refuses to go here with me. "I dont like sushi" he says... Well hes never actually tried it. People cant get over the raw fish. Half of the rolls on the trust me menu are COMPLETELY COOKED. I wish people would be more open minded because when I started 'trusting' Ben and his staff, thats when I started getting the BEST sushi. Thanks!

Nice! Very nice!. We phoned in a take-out order for a group, so we had a diverse number of rolls and other dishes. All the salads were excellent, especially the sunomono. Really fresh! The tempura appetizer batter was light and crispy, even after the ride home. The rolls were polished off in short order, and everyone seemed pleased. I can't wait to be able to go in and enjoy this food as soon as it is prepared. The staff was very friendly, fulfilling my requests as we picked up the order for low-sodium soy and other trinkets like it was their pleasure. This restaurant is better than many bigger names in bigger towns. We will definitely be back.
