Bernard's Gastropub Eatery - Roanoke

Stopped in Roanoke on our way back to Ohio from Georgia, found this restaurant via Google. Very large, varied menu. Charming place, friendly efficient service, nice choice of libations. All 4 of us LOVED our meals some had sandwiches, some a traditional main course. Chef has culinary degree from Johnson Whales it shows ! Highly recommend !

Beautiful restaurant with a great menu. I came, along with a group of friends, to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had the blueberry martini as a drink, shared some raw oysters as an appetizer, and got the seafood special as a dinner. The service was absolutely great and everyone's food was absolutely amazing. Bernard's has made its way onto my favorites list after this experience!

Dined here 9/9/22. Quick stop to eat before the airport, food was great, crab cakes fresh and plentiful. Risotto was creamy filling.Fish and chips (didn't get photo sadly) was best fish n chips Id ever seen!

I remember when they first opened. It became my favorite place to go for brunch, lunch, dinner, etc. the food is impeccable and you can tell that Jon puts his whole heart and soul into the food he creates! There is literally nothing you can find wrong on the menu! There is something to satisfy everyone. Lindsay would go to the local market and pick up fresh produce, run around making sure everything behind the door was taken care of. These are two hard working people that make a great restaurant to go to. Staff is wonderful and attentive. The food is phenomenal and I highly recommend them!

Great location in downtown, excellent food, small but beautiful outdoor kitchen with propane heaters, and friendly waiting staff. We waited for our food because we have short staff, but the salmon was worth waiting!
