Great little cafe near the school of music. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. The young man at the counter was very nice and definitely an asset to this establishment
I came here a lot in the 90s when I was a young teen 13 15 years old< (not recommended in today's society to be downtown without adults or parents). Tonight I came here before the RPO with my wife. Good little place to get in some nice conversation as the music is not overly loud. My wife's eggnog cappuccino was delicious! My plain old vanilla coffee was not so glorious. Tasted extremely bitter and watered down. Baked goods were awesome giant macaroons are
Ambience is nice and warm. The batista offered to customize the coffee as per my taste and liking and it was just the perfect combination.
A legendary Rochester institution. I've been coming here since my sister took me here in high school (I'm 27) and I still consider it an occasion. I've traveled to numerous cities around the world, visited cafes in all of them, and I still haven't found one that compares. Javas has been a consistent part of my life for years and I have many memories tied to it. I've gone here for dates. Finished some of my favorite books. Wrote most of my masters thesis. Studied for the GRE and many exams. Lunch with coworkers and friends. This is where I go to catch up with buddies from out of town. Javas is an invaluable asset to Rochester because it's one of the few gathering places open late that doesn't involve alcohol. The prices are reasonable. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Quirky and unique atmosphere. Bars, theaters and entertainment within walking distance. Good coffee and friendly staff. Long live Javas!
