I ordered Egusi and fufu for delivery, but when it arrived, the soup seemed to be almost nonexistent—it was at the bottom of the bowl. If you're running low on ingredients and can’t serve your customers adequately, please let us know. Don't just take our money and provide the bare minimum. Before they moved to their larger location, we enjoyed both quality food and generous portions. Now, I feel shortchanged. I've been a loyal customer of Kamaras for years, but this year has been particularly disappointing. I feel like I've wasted $25! Additionally, when I order rice dishes, they provide a huge portion of plain white rice with just a tiny amount of soup. It would be fair to see the same amount of soup as rice, especially for orders costing $20 and up. To be honest, they've just lost a loyal customer.
I tried their famous Egusi Soup, and it was absolutely delicious! I just wish it had a bit more soup and was filled to the top, especially since it was 90% meat and only 10% soup for the price of $20. The fufu portion was also quite small, but I ended up devouring it in no time. Even though the portions are small, I can see myself getting this once a year!
The food was incredible! The flavors were expertly crafted, leaving me in awe. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
First time having plantain fufu, I am not a fan of the texture but, everything else I ordered was delicious! I will give the Yam fufu a try next time before I completely rule it out. Thank you!
I saw this place a few times, and really wanted to give it a try........So I did. I went in on a Saturday. We did not receive a warm welcome or greeting. In fact, the lady lookat us as if we were not going to make a purchase. I love supporting Black Businesses, so that was my sole reason for even going here. The service was MEDIOCRE, the food was insane expensive for so little. The food was flavorful. However, I was disappointed in the service. I asked about certain African dishes, and receive a look of disgust. I was confused. I personally feel like when a Black business owner serves a Black customer, the service should be EXCEPTIONAL. Instead we treat each other like we have a problem. I'm not sure I will try this place again. If I do, it will not be In Person.
