Captain George Seafood - Rockingham

Oh my! This is the best warm food I've had! I've only been here three times, but the food is amazing and the service has always been great. The Hamburg steak was fantastic during my first two visits, and then I tried the seafood, which I enjoyed every time. The only downside was that I drove 30 minutes only to find out that they had closed the indoor dining area on Friday—at least that’s what the young girl at the register told me. With gas prices being so high, it’s tough to make that drive, so I recommend calling on the day you plan to visit, instead of the day before, to confirm that the indoor dining area is open. It seems like they do a lot of takeout!

We dine here almost every Saturday night and typically place a call ahead for our orders. Like many restaurants these days, they are short-staffed, so rather than complain about wait times, we prefer to order and pick up. The flounder is excellent, and we really enjoy the grilled shrimp and salmon as well. The hamburg steak is clever and tasty, and the grilled chicken is also a favorite. I'm not certain about the dining-in portions, but the takeout portions are a generous size and definitely worth the price.

A very surprising hidden little jewel. I would have submitted a photo, but it was so delicious that I put it up! We had the fried flounder, shrimp, oysters and Hush puppies. Very delicious.
