Írjon visszajelzéstFor the price of an all-you-can-eat sushi place, this was very good! The one dish that prevented a 5-star review was one of the rolled sushi fell apart (when it never did before). My party of 5 included 3 big eaters and the servers were very accommodating. The shrimp tempura was not as crispy as we've had at other places, another reason for the 4 stars. All other items were well made. The chicken katsu, the udon, the avacado salad were all well prepared. We will be back.
Definitely on the better side of average. If I lived in the neighborhood, Asahi would likely be my go to sushi spot, although it's hard to justify a 20 minute drive from Hartford. My husband and I were in the area and dropped in for a quick dinner in and out within 45 minutes, which hit the perfect balance of efficient, yet not rushed. I started with the sashimi appetizer (decent) and moved on to the Green Dragon roll with eel and cucumber wrapped in avocado. Though sans rice, it was delicious. Nick's spicy roll combo was great (LOVEEE when it's not drenched in mayo) as was his yuki salad with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, seaweed, masago and sesame with miso sauce. Bright, fresh flavors probably the best dish of the night. The interior is pretty shabby in dire need of an update but staff were friendly and service was quick. A good standby if you're in the area!
I love this restaurant. The food is always fresh. I mean you can't beat the price of less than $20.00 for all you can eat sushi. They offer a variety of food on their menu and their portions are very generous. They have friendly staff and they always remember what I order. This is a great restaurant to come and try new sushi's without having to worry how much it's going to cost. The spicy tuna, salmon nigiri, and Rainbow rolls are my favorite. As an appetizer order the avocado salad. It comes with half an avocado and ginger dressing. I come here at least once a week if not more.
Japanese-owned Sushi places don 't really exist in Connecticut any more and unfortunately we are left with inexpensive imitations. This location offers an all-you-can eat menu selection and a regular menu. I was a part of a party of three and we ate a subset of our selections within about 30 minutes. The sashimi, spelled sasimi, was pale-colored and dry. After about 45 minutes we asked why the rest of our order never arrived and the explanation was that we ordered too much. We finally convinced the woman to have the rest of our order prepared and we consumed everything and left. On my way home I started to feel ill. I immediately turned around and made an emergency stop at my mother 's home in Rocky Hill. I have had mild gastrointestinal issues for a few days now. I don 't know if we have become too complacent as a society, which has allowed restaurants like Asahi to remain opened or if the lure of the low price tag justifies the low quality. All I know is that I will never return.
I love this restaurant. We frequent almost once a week. It is very quiet, we get greeted when we arrive and seated immediately. All employees are extremely attentive making sure we constantly have refills on tea/water, and making sure we have everything we need. I love that most customers are frequent, they seem to know a lot of people by name, and tend to know a lot of orders for the regulars . The miso soup is awesome, I normally start with one, and end with another. Salmon is amazing fresh every single time we start with about 14 pieces, plus a few rolls and then order our second round! The price is great, you can really get a LOT for the amount, especially on weekdays and you never leave hungry. If I had an option, I 'd choose Asahi over Sushi House down the street any day! (I got very sick from Sushi House) also, Asahi is cheaper, service is better, and it 's a more peaceful dining experience.
