Berbere Roma

Excellent Pizza loved by our kids. We stayed at the Hoxton hotel and walked there. I also ordered the aioli dip for crusts and the entire family loved it. Served promptly and friendly staff.

My wife and I are currently on vacation in Rome, staying at the Romanico Palace Hotel. Earlier this evening, a local friend brought us to her favorite pizzeria, Berber Roma, on Via Mantova. The restaurant was quite busy, even on a Sunday evening, but luckily our friend had made a reservation for us. We quickly received our drinks and starters, followed by delicious pizzas. I opted for local sausage on mine, while my wife chose the pumpkin pizza. The food and service were both excellent, and we may even consider returning for another meal.

The pizzas at this restaurant are outstanding, with non-traditional but delicious toppings aside from the basic Margherita and Napoli. However, the service and management are lacking. The wait time for drinks, starters, and pizzas was extremely long, which is unacceptable. If short-staffed, the manager should consider not seating more tables. There is a nearby pizzeria, Santi Sebastiano e Valentino, with similar high-quality pizzas and excellent service. It is a shame that despite the great pizzas, I may not return to this restaurant.

We had the buffalo and a more fancy one with orange infused oil and prosciutto. Both pizzas were good and the options for extra ingredients or even other doughs were interesting. Would definitely recommend for a proper pizza.

I don't eat pizza often, but I really enjoy artisan pizza when I come across one. This place is amazing. I particularly loved the pizza with taleggio, lemon zest, escarole, and olives. The ingredients are all incredibly fresh, local, and organic. The zucchini and feta cheese pizza was also delicious. The crust is similar to that of Neapolitan pizzas, and you can choose between classic or sourdough (multigrain flour) dough, both of which are organic. I highly recommend a visit to this fantastic pizzeria. It's a great spot for a sit-down meal, as opposed to most pizza places that are more of a "grab and go" type of establishment.
