Írjon visszajelzéstOMG! We are big fans of Sumo 's in New Hartford, but living in Rome, so we thought we would try Fuji. We were not condemned at all. Is perfect for two people, we were worried we had to sit with another group on a Hibatchi grill, but that warns the case, they brought it to your table. I'm not a fan of sushi at ALL, but this place changed my mind, and I'm content and can wait to go back and get more. The tasty roll has crabs and cream cheese, and is deep fried make the insides warm and fussy!!! Soooo good, and we are glad that it is only the road from home! Not to mention it is half the cost of Sumos.
What a delightful meal!. We were in the mood for Japanese food and were on our way to Geisha II in Utica, when we saw the parking lot was full at Fuji. We parked in the last open spot in the lot and entered in the front. The restaurant has a clean, log cabin appearance and was very neat inside. The noise level was very comfortable. We were shown promptly to our seat by friendly and gracious wait staff and were provided with the usual comprehensive japanese steakhouse menu. The hibachi preparation is in the back left of the restaurant behind glass and the skilled chef put on a nice demonstration for the children and interested adults. Chopsticks are provided and additional eating utensils are brought for the diner's comfort. We ordered the miso soup, which was delicious. The house japanese salad had crisp, fresh vegetables and had a flavorful dressing on it as a nice appetizer. We were then brought 4 hand rolls of tuna, salmon, spicy tuna and california roll, with wasabi and pickled ginger on the side, and small dipping plates for the table soy sauce. The rolls were all fresh and had great flavor, especially the spicy tuna roll, which had a pleasing crunch to it. The sushi rice had the approriate sticky consistency and flavor. The wasabi was fresh and had good heat. The table soy sauce had excellent flavor as well. Our next course was Hibachi style vegetables and vegetarian noodles. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, tender crisp and the dipping sauces were flavorful, a ginger soy sauce, and what tasted like a mayonnnaise based sauce for the hibachi style vegetables. It came with vegetable fried rice, which also had excellent flavor and the vegetarian noodles had a delightful smoky flavor. There were aspragus spears cut on a bias, shitaake mushrooms, broccoli, yellow and green onion, carrots etc... The noodles were of good consistency and were tasty. I enjoy a little spice with my food and asked for hot chili sauce on the side. It too was very flavorful and complimentary of the other flavors. I asked our waiter, if he lived in Rome, or nearby, but was surprised to find that he commuted all the way from Brooklyn, NY by bus 5 hours each way to work at Fuji. We were very pleased with our dining experience, and our bill came to less than $36 for 3 people. We will definitely be returning here over and again and hope that the restaurant achieves lasting success in this community. Our next meal will be a midday lunch, and we have high expectations based on our first experience.
Great food. Friendly fast service. Priced reasonably. Very nice presentation Great idea for Rome. Especially clever in a log cabin!! Can't wait for the next time. Certainly would recommend to others.
Yum!!. So happy to have a lunchtime Sushi option in Rome. I commute in for work, and this restaurant is a nice culinary expansion to my list of Roman tried and trues. I 've dined in once, and just got takeout today. In both cases, the food was very fresh, nicely presented, priced right. The restaurant appears very clean and I will be making this a regular lunch destination. I hope they do well and are around for a long time to come. One thing they ought to consider once better established: lunchtime delivery to the Griffiss Business and Technical park...their current location is a long drive to the other side of town for the busy professionals on the park who have a limited lunch hour.
When it comes to new restaurants in Rome, I walk in with low expectations but Fuji blew me away with the friendly wait staff, low wait time at a rush hour, and excellent food that competes, and in my opinion, is better than Koto, Asian Bistro, Sumo, and Mitsuba. The miso soup, sushi, and hand rolls were well prepared with great aesthetics and the taste was phenomenal with a price that really sets the bar for good food at a reasonable cost without having to drive an hour. We WILL be eating here again,... And again and again.
