Oh wow, this restaurant truly serves the most incredible Chinese food I've ever had in this state. That's saying a lot considering the variety of options available.

This restaurant is not worthy of a single star review. It is a terrible place to dine and I strongly advise against it. There were cockroaches and mice in the kitchen area, as well as in the bathroom. I will be reporting this to the Public Health Department and believe that this place should be shut down entirely. I wouldn't be surprised if the food was contaminated by these pests. Our server, Austin, was very rude and lacked manners. Despite ordering a variety of dishes, when it was close to closing time at 9 o'clock, Austin rudely asked my family with young children to leave. This restaurant should have informed us earlier about their closing time so we could have made other dining arrangements. After paying $200 for our meal, I returned home only to feel sick and later develop the flu. Seeing the cockroaches, mice, and unsanitary conditions in the restaurant makes me question what they are putting in their food, especially with COVID still a concern. I strongly recommend avoiding Hot Pot Joy altogether if you do not want to risk getting sick. Austin was a terrible and disrespectful individual, and should be ashamed of his actions towards customers, particularly children. I will be reporting this egregious behavior to the Public Health Department once again, and believe this restaurant should be shut down.

I have always had good experiences at this restaurant, it is one of my go-to spots for hotpot. However, I must give a 1-star review based on my last visit. The server/host automatically added a 15% gratuity to our bill for 4 people (2 adults, 2 children). I usually tip based on my own discretion, so I believe that automatic gratuity is typically for parties of 6 or more at 20%. Additionally, the server was not the usual person I am used to seeing in the hot pot section, which was predominately occupied by Asian customers. The restaurant was not busy, as we were the only ones eating in the hot pot area. I only hope that the owners are aware of these issues.
