Amazing beer if you like ipas... Small but enjoyable interior with a few tvs and a happy vibe. Can bring your own food or they have trucks sometimes. Last time there had a Springfield BBQ truck and the pork Sammy and gumbo soup were awesome. Dog friendly outside too.
I have been enjoying Variant 's libations since they opened 5-6 years. In their first year, they were cranking out some of the best IPAs in Georgia. Now they are producing some of the best IPA 's in the country. I travel extensively for work, and used to bring beer back home; now I take it with me. I would put it right there up against the OG New England IPAs. I don 't generally drink sours or stouts, but hear they are just as good. In a word amazing. Don 't just walk; RUN to Variant and grab a pint.
This place was amazing. I was visiting my brother and we decided to give this place a try because he lives fairly close and neither of us had been before. Not a ton of parking there so you may have to walk a little ways. Place has a few TVs so it's a good spot to catch a game on Saturday or Sunday. There's also a pizza spot up there road that you can order from and will deliver to you at the brewery, hard to beat that. I love New England IPAs and am a huge fan of their beer named Cashmere which is actually a double New England IPA. The Norcross St. IPA was also enjoyable, it's their west coast IPA.
Variant is often cited as one of the best breweries in metro Atlanta, and is known for their top class hazy pale ales. My wife and I were in the area and decided to enjoy a post lunch beer at this small Roswell brewery. The vibe here is clean and warehouse-y with a small outdoor patio. We received friendly service from the bartender and ordered a flight of 4 beers for me and a sour for my wife. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of hazy IPAs and the selection here leans heavily towards that genre. Still, I tried a couple in my flight and particularly enjoyed a citra hopped, lighter hazy pale ale called Cloud Forager . I also dug the year round Norcross St west coast IPA. The other two selections (the Helles and one of the many hazy IPAs) were decent enough but not my favorite. My wife enjoyed her pour of the raspberry lemon gose which tasted refreshing and mildly tart. Parking here is kind of an issue. Even though we visited the brewery at the ostensibly off hour of Thursday at 2pm, there was only one parking spot left in the small lot. I can imagine parking being far more troublesome if you go on a weekend or in the evening, so plan accordingly. Ultimately, we enjoyed our brews here but wouldn 't necessarily recommend a dedicated trip from the city unless you are a hazy IPA aficionado.
