Jersey Mike's Subs - Round Rock

My favorite sub sandwich shop began for me in North Carolina, and I’m so excited about its opening in Round Rock, Texas!

First, I noticed that no one was wearing hairnets or hats. The manager chose to do paperwork in the dining area during the lunch rush on a Sunday, which seemed quite unprofessional. Due to a lack of experience, he took his time coming over to the counter to take our order. When my sister, who had never been to Jersey Mike's before, asked for recommendations, he didn’t engage with us at all. I suggested some options, and I ordered an 8-inch sub in a tub while she opted for an 11-inch. What was frustrating was that in the middle of taking our order, he paused to call the staff from the back to give them instructions instead of focusing on us. It felt like no one else was able to slice the meat, so we patiently waited. Finally, he returned to finish preparing our sandwiches. I had already paid for everything and felt like I should have asked for my tip back given the service. The young man at the register did recognize my frustrations and tried to make the experience a bit easier, but it didn’t help much. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also concerning; the floor was dirty, and I found myself having to ask several times for assistance. Overall, I will not be returning to this location to avoid going through such a disappointing experience again.

The sandwiches here are fantastic! They could improve on speed and pricing, but the quality and flavor definitely make it worth it. When the lobby is crowded, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for a sandwich. While the quality remains excellent, that wait time can be a bit excessive. I usually opt to order online during peak hours and just pick up my food to avoid the wait. Overall, it's one of my favorite places to grab a sandwich!

Good, but the new employees need to learn how to wrap sandwiches better

I went in for a sandwich and instead of it being prepared in the normal time frame that it does at other locations, the employees staffed tonight decided this was the time to joke and play/run around all while taking turns and multiple breaks for their side conversations. It was as if they didn’t care that I was standing there watching them literally pause my food to finish their conversation and I was on their time. I also had to repeat myself multiple times for what I wanted and was almost over charged because the girl that rang me up wouldn’t pay attention long enough to hear my answers to her questions. I almost always leave a generous tip but this is probably the last night I’ll visit here. It isn’t the first time I’ve received poor customer service from this location but it’s definitely the last.
