Happy Veggie Garden - Rowland Heights

For most of my life, I've been dedicated to bodybuilding, focusing on protein intake and muscle building. Now that I'm older, I've shifted towards a flexitarian diet, reducing my meat consumption. I primarily eat plant-based foods, and Happy Veggie Garden is a perfect match for my new lifestyle. The dishes here are packed with flavor, served steaming hot, and quickly dispel any concerns about vegetarian food being dull.

Highlights included the spicy tempura mushrooms with basil, seaweeds with basil, and deep-fried tofu served with an amazing sauce. I also enjoyed the eels on lettuce, the simmered tofu with skin, and the veggie soup. The scallops on pea tips were delightful as well. I wish I could have ordered more, as there are still many other dishes I haven't tried yet. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

The vegan food here is consistently delicious and excellent! Since my last visit, they’ve made some updates to the decor and given the place a more modern appearance. They’ve added a few new items to the menu, but they still offer beloved classics like the orange peel chicken nuggets and the tofu and eggplant hot pot. I just wish I lived closer!

I lovelovelove vegetarian restaurants because I can/want to eat almost everything on the menu! (picky eater alert here haha Happy Veggie Garden was recommended to me by a friend and I came here with 2 of my friends for lunch on a Saturday. FOOD: veggie chicken in curry sauce yum! Good texture and great flavor to the curry eggplant with tofu hotpot i LOVE eggplant and this was freaking damn delicious!! Cooked perfectly tender with a great sauce YUM! I wish it would've been more eggplant and less tofu haha but that's just me crispy oyster mushroom lordy this isn't healthy at all! Basically oyster mushrooms sliced thinly and then fried lol. I thought it was a bit salty the complimentary salad they give you nothing special, but they put togarashi in the dressing! SERVICE: Can't complain. No language barrier even though I speak chinese. Food came out quickly and tea was refilled fast. They never rushed us even when we sat there chatting afterwards. VENUE/PARKING: Restaurant is pretty large, plenty of seating. Located INSIDE the building with the 99 Ranch market, in the LEFT side if you're facing the 99 Ranch entrance. Huge plaza, so plenty of parking a ton of construction going on right now just fyi. Yum! Would come back if I'm in the area because the menu is huge! :

Great vegetarian place, with a nice mix of common 'veggie ' items (like kung pao chicken and some stir-fried tofu) to some more specialized items (such as a 'ham ' sandwich). all in all, a worthwhile experience, and recommended if you are vegetarian--or even if you 're not and just want to get away from eating meat for a meal. the kung pao chicken and house special chicken are popular. note: nogales st is a mess right now and will be until 2016. it will be quite a chore to get to the 99 ranch plaza where this is located.
