Montys Grill - Royal Oak

This is the best diner in town. The owners, a lovely couple, are the sweetest people you will ever meet. The food is always fresh. I would recommend this place for breakfast or lunch any day of the week!

While waiting at the bank, I decided to use Yelp to find a nearby place for lunch. I stumbled upon a restaurant with 135 reviews and an overall rating of 4 1/2 stars. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, despite it being located in a slightly sketchy-looking hotel. I ordered a sausage and cheese omelet with toast and it was delicious. When I mentioned it to a coworker, he reminisced about his dad taking him there as a child. I regret not trying this place sooner, as I have clearly been missing out.

Love it.... The atmosphere alone reminds you of a little diner of the 50s. Food cooked with love an you can taste his patience as he's cooking away on the (50 plus years) flat top. A must go!

Absolutely love the place, very cozy and genuine. The burger is top notch, and the corned beef hash is an absolute staple of the place. A for sure must-visit of the area.

Monty's Grill is one of the top diners on Woodward Avenue. The food is fresh, the service is great, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Chef John truly cares about making sure his customers are satisfied. Highly recommend - 5 stars!
