Rude, unprofessional and greedy. Never again! This is a perfect example of customer service at its worst.

We stopped here for dessert after completing the volksmarch (hiking event) in Runkel on 3 Oct (Reunification Day). It was very, very crowded inside and in the courtyard. Staff were unable to keep up with the customers. It took about 20 minutes for our cake and coffee to be served after we had ordered at the counter and told to take our seats. I understand it was their busiest day of the year but they should have expected the crowds as their cafe was the official starting point for the volksmarch. Despite the extremely slow service, I have to say their desserts and coffee were very good. I'd eat there again but only when not busy!

You have to go here, the service is so bad, it’s hilarious! Walked in and asked if they served breakfast, the Waitress pointed to the table and said, sit down and read the menu. Ok, no worries. We just wanted a snack so I ordered...the Apfel Strudel and my friend ordered the Broetchen with boiled egg. Remembering he preferred it scrambled, I jumped up and asked her to just scramble the egg instead. She came back to the table and started asking about all the other choices, I corrected her and said, no, we didn’t want to order the big breakfast with all the extras, but we just wanted the egg scrambled instead of boiled. She promptly answered, “No, if you want the egg scrambled, then you must order the other breakfast! This one comes with the boiled egg!” Oh, I said, but we didn’t want that huge breakfast, we just wanted the egg scrambled. She replied, “No, this breakfast comes with a boiled egg. If you want the scrambled egg, you MUST order the other breakfast! This one has the boiled egg!” Ok, I asked, you’ve already boiled the eggs? “No, I will boil it now!” I couldn’t help but smile, Ok, I said, but then maybe you can just, ...scramble it? She replied again, “NO! This breakfast comes with a BOILED egg! If you want the egg scrambled, you MUST order the other breakfast!” This was just too hilarious! I actually looked around for the candid camera video cameras, because I thought we must be on TV! I started laughing, my friend was just looking on in disbelief, Ok, I said, We will have the boiled egg! She turned promptly on her heals and marched away to the kitchen to prepare the boiled egg. I must say, the food was very good, home cooked. The service, ...well, very entertaining! Calling all Trip Advisors, you simply have to visit this place, order the gekochtes ei and ask for it scrambled! It’s just too funny!
